Providence Cristo Rey High School, located minutes from downtown, is a coeducational, college-preparatory secondary school created exclusively for students from families with modest means, which integrates rigorous classroom instruction with real-life corporate work study experiences for each student by partnering with some of the finest businesses and corporations in the Indianapolis area. These partnerships allow Providence Cristo Rey to make a faith-based, student-centered education available at a very affordable cost to students who could not otherwise afford a Catholic education.
All too often, center city children are most at risk for dropping out of high school. If they try to stay in school, they are often subject to a school atmosphere in which there are many other competing interests that lure them away from their studies. Wanting more for their children, parents frequently look to the Catholic schools, nationally known for their high expectations, quality teaching, and personal attention, only to find that the tuition payments are cost prohibitive. That’s why Providence Cristo Rey High School was founded and exists today. The school is sponsored by the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, IN, and is a member of the national Cristo Rey Network.
