Academics

At Providence Cristo Rey we offer our students an excellent college preparatory education. Our school is sponsored by the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, renowned for the outstanding education they have provided young students for over 170 years. Our rigorous curriculum, fine teachers and administrators who hold high expectations for all students,  underscore our belief that every one of our students can have success at PCRHS and in college.  For the class of 2011, over 75% of students received early decision letters from colleges and universities.

Providence Cristo Rey students experience a 21st century education.  There are "mobile labs" so that students have access to laptops in classrooms.  Teachers and students use Smartboards on a regular basis.  Teachers who want know how well their students are absorbing information often use immediate response systems (which the students call "Clickers") to find out  what concepts students have mastered and which need more work before the students even leave the classroom.

What sets a Providence Cristo Rey education apart from other college-prep schools is its Corporate Work Study Program.  Our students are also learning on the job.  Unlike most of their peers in other high schools, they see and experience life in the professional world, rubbing elbows with employees at some of the most prestigious businesses and companies in Indianapolis and helping them with the work that makes their business thrive.

We're confident our graduates will have the knowledge and skills to live the pledge they recite every day. Because of what they learn at PCRHS and on the job they will be able to take the lead in creating a more just society and building a brighter, more hopeful future for themselves and others.
