Congratulations to Senior Charles Orr, December Corporate Work Study Student of the Month, who works for Dauby, O'Connor, and Zaleski. His supervisor Wendy Ketterman nominated Charles for "his hard work, determination, positive attitude and for setting the pace for future Cristo Rey Students."
Charles has become very valuable to our staff at DOZ as he demonstrates a high level of capability in three departments, Audit, Tax and IT. He has become a sought-after student for project based requests, as well as by supervisors who look forward to his rotation period in their specific department. We are fortunate to have Charles with us all 4 years of his Cristo Rey work study. As a Cristo Rey Senior, we feel that he symbolizes the Providence Cristo Rey Vision. As a sponsor, we are thrilled to see the rewards of this program through Charles. As he prepares for graduation, finishes his last couple of Rotations with DOZ, is accepted into college, and ultimately chooses his professional career path. It has been an honor to be his work study supervisor. We at DOZ are so very proud of him.”

He’s eager to learn, ambitious, professional, reliable and does an excellent job at everything he does. He has great comprehension, asks the right questions and he always completes all of his tasks perfectly. I always know that anytime I give Jaedan a task that it will be done in a timely manner and done well. And might I add he’s very pleasant to work with. What Others Say about Our Work Study Program:
Teresa Lubbers, Indiana Commissioner on Higher Education (pictured left with President & CEO Joseph P. Heidt) highlighted the PCRHS model as an example of career readiness:
"We know when students have meaningful career experiences throughout their education, they are more likely to find and prepare for a career path that matches both their interests and aptitude. Equally important, these work-based opportunities help ensure our students will remain in Indiana and are equipped to meet the demands of our rapidly growing workforce and economy."
Pat Roe, Senior Program Director, National Engagement and Philanthropy, USA Funds said:
"Providence Cristo Rey students are developing college-ready and career-ready capabilities - for example, learning to collaborate and work effectively within a team as well as learning workplace sensibilities including the importance of meeting or surpassing productivity and accountability standards."
