Our partnership with many of the most recognizable companies in Indianapolis is changing the face of education in our city. Students work each week in a professional, entry level job; a resource that is a cost savings for companies. In return, students gain valuable work experience, learn good work habits and time management, begin career preparation, networking, and building their resume.
A Workforce Solution for the Modern Office
Recently, Mike Dilts, the CEO of Shiel Sexton and a founding Corporate Work Study partner, talked about the value of the PCRHS program to his company.
The Corporate Work Study (CWS) program employs our students, handling all payroll, Workers’ Compensation, taxes, Department of Labor, and other employment paperwork. Businesses contract with the CWS program to outsource their entry-level jobs for an annual fee. The fee is a business expense, not a donation. Student-workers are put into job-sharing teams and their academic schedules are modified so that five students job share a full-time entry level job without missing class. The Corporate Work Study Program seeks full-time, entry level positions for its students. Providence Cristo Rey students are already performing tasks such as filing, copying, faxing, delivering interoffice mail, assembling information packets, basic data-entry, reception, and general duties at the organizations throughout metropolitan Indianapolis.
