An Affordable Catholic, College Prep High School
Providence Cristo Rey High School, opened its doors in 2007 to serve families, like yours, who want a better future for their children. Our Catholic, college preparatory education is affordable for families facing economic challenges because of the generosity of our Corporate Work Study partners. Our students work one school day per week at prominent Indianapolis companies while they gain valuable job and corporate experience.
Classroom Instruction
Our classroom instruction is challenging in order to prepare every student for success at college. Our faculty is always available to help with questions and we provide time every afternoon for study when our students can call on any teacher for help with difficult concepts or assistance with projects and papers. New students sometimes need added support and Providence Cristo Rey offers extra classes in reading and math so they can keep pace with their peers.
Success Beyond Graduation
100 percent of our 2011 seniors were accepted into colleges and universities and offered over $2,000,000 in scholarships. In comparison, the Bureau of Labor Statistics cites that in 2009 only 70 percent of high school completers in the U.S. continued on to college. In the tradition of a Catholic school we not only have high expectations and quality teaching, we also share our hope for a more just society. While over 80 percent of our students belong to other faith traditions, we all work together to grow in our understanding of love, justice, and mercy.
